The emergence of Country Music in Brazil took place in the 70s with the presentation, on some radio stations in the country, of North American artists such as Dom Williams, Charlie Daniels, Kenny Rogers and others. As a result, several programs were produced by broadcasters in Brazil, but most of them lacked credibility. In other words, they didn't keep the essence of country and added cultural commentary to their programs and especially, songs that had nothing to do with what really happens in the world of Country Music.
Then, in early 1978, this "slice of music" was discovered by me, Renato Sperb (American Country) through the emergence (on imported vinyl) of the singer-songwriter who became a legend in the United States: Willie Nelson.
    Today American Country besides playing "Real Country Music" now has two more ingredients: Blues and SouthernRock.
So with this "mix" the program was called ACRS-American Country Radio Show in 1988. This style is aimed at a demanding audience that understands the meaning of the word "music".
